Gordon Lawrence is the Global Group Lead for Turnaround Services within the Reliability, Maintenance and Turnarounds Division of Becht, the Engineering Consultancy.

Gordon Lawrence has almost 40 years of experience in the process industries, in both capital project management and maintenance turnaround preparation & planning. He has worked as a project manager and senior project manager on both the owner and the contractor's side. He also has many years of experience as a project and turnaround consultant, including periods at IPA, the CII and AP-Networks, before joining Becht.

Gordon has an honours degree in Chemical Engineering from Heriot-Watt University, in Edinburgh, Scotland; a Masters in Bio-Chemical Engineering from the University of Birmingham, England; and an MBA from Strathclyde University Business School in Glasgow, Scotland. He is a Chartered Engineer in the UK and a Registered Professional Engineer in Europe. He is a Fellow of the UK Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE). He has published numerous technical papers on best practices for turnaround and project preparation & execution, in both magazines and at conferences. He is also the lead author of several Recommended Practices on cost estimating for Turnarounds at the AACE-International. He is a dual British/French national, based in The Netherlands.
