Jerel G. Nelson is a highly-motivated, proven professional and process improvement leader. He thinks and acts strategically, is a clear communicator, and an integrator. He has over 20 years of technical and leadership experience in business development, nuclear power facility decommissioning, environmental restoration, risk management, process and organizational improvement, business management, work planning and control, performance metrics, and infrastructure strategic planning in private and government sectors both nationally and internationally. He has worked internationally on projects and consulted in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Eastern Europe, and Australia.

He excels in solving legacy challenges and issues, leveraging systems and applications to drive standardization, consistency, transparency, responsibility and accountability in processes and organizations. He specializes in the development, implementation, and use of proactive, custom systems and applications designed to perform and improve strategic planning, performance reporting, commitments and issues management, risk and issues management, communications, compliance, integrated reporting, acquisition management, deactivation and decommissioning, surveillance and maintenance, infrastructure investment, and site-wide prioritization, sequencing, optimization, and stakeholder decision-making, and work management. He has co-developed and implemented over 30 custom systems and applications with significant cost savings and process improvement impacts for organizations and companies. Jerel is currently the Division Manager for Work Planning and Control for Mission Support and Test Services, LLC (MSTS), a contractor to the U.S. Department of Energy that manages and operates the Nevada National Security Site (NNSS). He is also the manager of Maximo.
