Matt Balderston, PE, is a Drilling Manager at 1876 Resources, where he leads the design and execution of horizontal oil and gas wells in unconventional reservoirs. His work focuses on well design, drilling optimization, and the integration of new technologies to improve operational efficiency and field performance. Matt holds a degree from the Colorado School of Mines and is a licensed Professional Engineer. He works closely with multidisciplinary teams across drilling, completions, reservoir, and planning to advance modern well construction and development practices. He also led the implementation of Actenum’s Decisions Support and Optimization (DSO) platform at 1876 Resources, helping establish the framework for integrated schedule creation and optimization to support more informed development planning and operational decision-making.
