Description

Even the most well-designed maintenance plans can break down when they meet the realities of day-to-day operations.

This session draws on real-world refinery experience to explore why planning, scheduling, and turnaround (STO) initiatives often fall short—despite structured processes and advanced tools. We’ll examine common challenges including fragmented planning, limited visibility, shifting priorities, and the constant pressure of operational change.

At the heart of these challenges is the human factor. Misalignment, resistance to change, and communication gaps frequently become the biggest obstacles to successful execution.

Most importantly, this session focuses on what actually works. From leadership alignment and frontline engagement to clear communication and pragmatic change management, we’ll share proven approaches that help bridge the gap between planning and execution.

Attendees will leave with practical insights on how to drive sustainable improvements in maintenance performance—by making change work with people, not just process.
